Woman jumps from a moving vehicle into traffic, struck and killed

Just west of Scottsboro city limits on US Highway 72, Donna Michelle McCrary was struck and killed by a vehicle traveling west in the 15000 block of the highway.  The accident occurred near 11pm Saturday night.  According to the police report, Ms. McCrary was in the rear passenger seat of a Nissan Pathfinder that was being driven by Eddie Williams.  Roger Williams was also an occupant in the vehicle, sitting in the front passenger seat.  For reasons not reported, and perhaps unknown, Ms. McCrary jumped out of the vehicle and onto the roadway where she was then struck and killed by a Volvo station wagon, traveling in the same direction.  No information has been released on the occupants of the Volvo.  McCrary’s body has been sent to the state forensics lab in Huntsville for an autopsy.
