Driver charged for killing pedestrian

Nicole Gallo, 19, was killed instantly when Rachael Jankins hit her with her car on August 14 just outside Delaware County Memorial Hospital.  Christine Bochanski, 20, was also hit, but is recovering after surgery for a broken back.  Jankins originally told police she was distracted with her iPod, but her blood tested positive for marijuana and difluoroethane, a chemical in compressed air used to clean computers.  She is being charged with homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence.  She is also being charged with aggravated assault, involuntary manslaughter, and related offenses.
