Seventh grade student Tyler Michael Perrow of Tunstall Middle School in Pittsylvania County was killed Saturday in a one car accident. Tyler was the passenger in a 1997 Isuzu Rodeo that flipped several times on Crane Road in Pittsylvania County. The teenage driver had run off the road and overcorrected, causing the loss of control. Virginia State Police will charge the driver with reckless driving and failure to maintain control.
Tunstall’s principal, Rebecca Stevens says that Tyler was a tremendous force at his school. He was the type of student that everyone knew and liked, very friendly and a good student. The students and teachers openly discussed their feelings about the death, and on Tuesday, everyone wore red, Tyler’s favorite color, in honor of the loss they felt.
